What scrap handling solutions are available for stamping operations?
For metal stamping operations, we offer below-ground conveyor systems that collect scrap from multiple press lines, floor-level conveyors for individual presses, under-press in-floor scrap systems, and high-capacity discharge configurations. Our conveyors handle everything from small trim scrap and skeleton material to large heavy offcuts. Enclosed or open-frame designs are available depending on your facility layout and material handling requirements.
Can Transcon conveyors handle recycling and waste materials?
Yes. Our heavy-duty conveyor systems are well-suited for recycling and waste processing operations where equipment must handle varied, abrasive, and often unpredictable materials on a continuous basis. The durability of our welded hinge belt design - rated for up to 600 lbs/ft - makes it ideal for the demanding conditions in recycling facilities where conventional conveyors fail prematurely.
What overload protection is available on Transcon conveyors?
Three approaches, matched to belt pitch. On 2½″ pitch conveyors we use a slip clutch. On 4″, 6″, and 9″ pitch we use a shear pin hub. Electronic overload monitoring is available as an option on any size.
All three do the same job: stop the drive before the belt, sprockets, and reducer absorb the load. A jam then costs a shear pin and a few minutes instead of a gearbox and a shift.
Electronic monitoring is worth adding where a conveyor runs unattended and you want the fault raised to the control system rather than discovered at shift change. Full detail on overload and jamming protection.
